Hometown – TΔƒΘ™nad, Satu Mare County, Romania πŸ‡·πŸ‡΄

I grew up down and old, dirty road in a town you wouldn’t know, where a traffic jam were 2 cars behind a tractor.

Destination : NorthWestern Transylvania.

More specifically : Tășnad.

Although I’m pretty sure 99% of you didn’t hear this name before, this city is The Holy Grail of thermal waters; we have the best ones in Romania !
And yes, I abused them insanely often when I was still living back there. πŸ”₯🌊

Football is our most sacred religion ⚽️.

This is my hometown, guys. A place where people always leave, yet they always end up coming back. Also, it’s the type of city you’ll never see on the big screen.

I’m a small-town girl; and small-town girls have big hearts with small-town values. We are forever loyal to our family, friends and roots. We dare to chase our dreams but always remember the road that leads back home. Every reason to leave becomes every reason to come back.

Because it’s home.

Our traditional food ❀️.

Homemade chocolate 🍫.

‘Nuga’ is a sweet snack, made of eggwhite cream and peanuts.

This was my favourite childhood dessert; it’s entirely made out of milk and eggs. The approximate translation would be ‘bird’s milk’. DELICIOUS

Mulled wine with apples, oranges, cinnamon and clove.

There is something about hometowns you can never escape; the triumphs and the tragedies. The nostalgia. Despite little changes, the place always feels the same.
This is who I am. This is where I come from. Never ashamed, never denying. Embrace your roots and find your path. If I could do it, so can you.

With love,
An amber-eyed small-town girl πŸ’Ž.

P.S. I could not have done this post without some help, so thanks everyone at home for taking a minute in order to offer a hand. Photo credits all on you, guys. Thanks a lot.Β
